DANBURY – School officials in the city are  brainstorming ways to attract students to the Western CT Academy of International Studies after declining enrollment seen during the pandemic created a budget shortfall in the magnet school's operations. The Connecticut State Department of Education awards the grant money based on the amount of students from surrounding towns who enroll in the magnet school so long as 75% of the students are Danbury residents. In order to qualify for the state funding, 25% of the schools enrollment must be made up of students from outside districts.
